Companies can block and monitor what employees do on their business devices but controlling what employees do on their personal devices isn't appropriate. I'ver been on both sides, and as an employee, if someone tried to control what I do with my personal device I would leave that job. As a business owner with employees, I don't really care what people do with their time or devices. I need results, I set the standard of what I need and as long as that is happening I don't really care if it takes someone 30 minutes or 3 hours. This requires leadership and not a management style.
